Projects Roadmap



With Hytale being a brand-new game, there are several stages we will need to work through: Setting up, server functionality, and finally server games and events. The first day will likely be spent just learning as we all explore mechanics and building blocks. This section is subject to RAPID changes, as a lot of this is still based on speculation prior to game launch, and will adapt over time.

The first two weeks will be focused on building up our Spawn area. We already have a design in mind for this, and should hopefully be able to set up a 'random teleport portal' early on so players can start carving their own corner of the world while we build.

As early as possible, we will be adding plugins to the server for security, such as being able to claim land against griefing. Backups will occur hourly until a form of grief prevention is implemented. Plugin needs will likely be fairly basic/vanilla to start. We don't want to overwhelm players, it's a brand new experience for us all, and we intend to respect that. Discord events will ramp up to accomodate new players, new questions, and new mechanics, so be sure to join us there. A Hytale-Q&A channel will probably pop up on launch day, where community members and staff will be able to answer your questions.

We will be working in the background however! Some events can take months to build, especially with the ability to add custom objects, assets, and interactions in Hytale. Many of these ideas were limited or outright impossible in Minecraft, while others are exciting to revisit with more expressive tools.


A few things we have planned:

 • Western Town featuring gold panning, a bank heist, bounty hunting, high noon showdowns, saloon brawls, and pony express mail delivery. Don't forget the animals - herding, rodeo, barrel racing, and more. And the mines! We heard you yearn for them.
 • The Wizard Tower, designed to test your abilities from running and jumping to solving puzzle rooms and mazes.
 • Recreation event: our former Spring Zone, showing the thaw from Winter into Spring. Included a gauntlet of puzzles and parkour, hide and seek, pvp, various races, and droppers. Movement in Hytale appears to be much smoother - ledge grabs?! - and should make for much richer gameplay.
